What personal data we collect and why we do it

When a visitor leaves a comment on the site we collect the data on the form, the visitor’s IP address and the browser used, to help spam detection systems.

An anonymised string of code created from your email address (called a pound sign) will provide the Gravatar service, if it is used. f you upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with geolocation data (EXIF GPS). Site users can download and extract data from images.

Who we share your data with

We follow restrictive privacy policy rules, which allow the transmission of data only to recognized organizations. In the case of this site, information is exchanged with Google, through the Google Analytics and Google Adwords services and with Yandex, through Yandex.Metrica.

The only other platform with which data sharing is possible on our part is Mailchimp, but you will have to actively provide your email for this to happen.

In any case, IP addresses are made anonymous, so as not to provide geographic information in any way.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, it and any metadata will be kept indefinitely. This way we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site, we will store the personal information in the profile. All users can see, modify and delete personal information at any time (except for the username). Only site administrators can change this information.

What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive a file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided publicly. You can request to have your data deleted. This does not include any data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security-related reasons.
